Hard Day....

Averie and I had a particularly difficult day yesterday.  We are really struggling to get her to take her bottles.  I mean, there are some days when I do good to get 8 ounces down her.  All the doctors and feeding experts tell me that she should be taking 20-24 ounces of formula per day.   Andrew is taking that much easily.  We are not sure what is going on with Averie, but we all, meaning me, Bruce, and my mother, think that her ears are bothering her.  We are heading back to the GI doctor today, but I don't really think he will be able to help us.  Anyway, yesterday Averie was so hungry and you could tell easily that she was hungry, but everytime I would put the bottle to her mouth she would suck a couple of times and then either turn her head or swat the bottle out of her mouth with her hand.  It was extremely frustrating for me and for her.  She just fought me all day and because she was hungry she didn't nap at ALL!!!!  This picture was taken at about 8:30 last night.  I was about to give her a bath so I got Bruce to go ahead and give her her medicine.  While he was giving Andrew his medicine, Averie just conked out.  I just let her sleep and bathed Andrew first indstead.  I have no more ideas on how to help Averie.  It is very hard to watch her be so hungry, but unable to eat.  Any ideas anyone??

Jail Bait!!!.....

Averie and Andrew have these striped pajamas that my good friend Leigha King gave them.  They are the softest, most comfortable pajamas.  Anyway, they were laying in Andrew's crib the other morning and I just thought the stripes looked a little prison jumpsuit...ish.  They still love to lay in the crib and watch a mobile.  I love it too!!!

4 MONTHS OLD!!!

Averie and Andrew are now 4 months old.  This time 4 months ago, they both were on a breathing machine in the NICU.  Look how far we have come in just a short 4 months.

They are really growing and doing well.  We are truly blessed!!!

Roll Tide!!! I found my thumb......!!!

I went in to check on Averie the other day while she was napping.  Usually she sucks her pacifier for a little while and then spits it out.  On this day, she had found her thumb and was going to town.  Now, she does this every time I put her down to sleep in  her bed.  It's GREAT!!!!

Averie and  Andrew were the best dressed babies at church last Sunday. Their Gram, my mom, made them these outfits that are just fabulous.  As you know, we live in Volunteer country and as an Alabama alumni, I have pledged to bring up my children in the ways of the TIDE, therefore, these outfits were the topic of much discussion at church.  It was GREAT!!!!  Yes, I know Averie has her finger up her nose and Adrew is wagging his tongue....what are you going to do????

Morning babies.....

This week Andrew and Averie have been sleeping from around 10:30 p.m. to between 7:30-8:00 a.m.  Great, huh??  Anyway, this morning they were in really good moods and I put them together under their excersaucer.  They just smiled and batted at the toy and at each other.  It was very cute.

Individual Cuteness

Lori, Johnna, Jennifer, and Carla gave us an excersaucer at my baby shower in Mobile, AL back in March.  This is the first stage of that toy.  Andrew will lay under it and play for a hour at a time.  He loves it!!!

Averie was laying in brother's boppy the other day and all of a sudden she popped her head up, rested it on her hands and preceeded to watch TV for about thirty minutes.  It was very cute.  I really don't think she can even see the TV at this point, but it looked like she could.

Together We Play.....

Andrew and Averie love, love, love to watch the mobile in their bed.  A couple of days ago we were getting ready to go to church and I put them together in Andrew's bed to watch the mobile while I finished getting dressed.  They were laughing and making all kind's of noise.  It was very cute.  I also think that these pictures show how much they look alike.  What do ya'll think??

After a little while, Averie had had it with watching the mobile.  She started to cry and Andrew thought it was the funniest thing to see her so upset.

Baptism Sunday

Bruce's Dad is now a retired Methodist pastor.  However, he served in the church for 40 years.  He was thrilled this past Sunday to perform the baptism/dedication of Averie and Andrew in our church.  The babies were dressed up in very pretty white clothes and everyone oohed and aahhed over them.  We all went out to eat after church and then crashed at home for the remainder of the afternoon.  My friend Farah has more pictures of this event that I will post when I recieve them from her.

More Family Meetings....

Pop and Granny came to visit from Texas last weekend.  This was the first time they had been to visit since May.  The twins had certainly changed a lot since they saw them last.  We all had a good visit and I am sure that they will miss these babies a great deal.
This picture was taken after Averie and Andrew had been up for most of the day.  At this level of crankiness only Mom will do.

Pretty girl....

These pictures have no real significance.  Averie was just looking cute so I thought I would share.

Big Maddox...

Lori and Maddox came over to visit.  Maddox is a really friendly, and polite young man.  I is a pleasure to get to watch him grow up.  He is really tall!!!  Anyway, the picture above is Maddox showing us how big his muscles are.  Aren't you impressed??

Baby Love...

This is Averie taking a snooze with Heydaddy.  I just thought this picture was cute, so enjoy.

Babies Everywhere....

We are blessed in our family to have two sets of fraternal twins.  My brother Jeff has twins that are 19 months old.  Hailey and Austin are at a really cute age and are a lot of fun to be around.

This is Hailey and she is a bundle of energy.
This is Austin and he is really big boy.  He was cracking me up smiling at the camera.  I would count to three and by three he was grinning big ready for me to take his picture.
I was really interesting to watch Austin and Hailey play in my twins car seats.  They thought they were little babies again.  They had a great time playing in the seats.
This is the four of them together.  I am sure you all can imagine that having all four of them in the house creates quite a bit of chaos.  Hats off to my mom and dad for agreeing to allow us all to come at the same time.

Meet the Family....

Bruce, Andrew, Averie and myself traveled to Mobile, AL this past weekend to introduce the twins to some of their extended family.  Let me tell you that six hours in a car with those two was something else.  However, it was really nice to see everyone and we were glad we could make the trip.

This is Averie with her Aunt Mary Jo.

This is Averie and  Andrew sitting and talking with Nanny.  Nanny is my grandmother and Averie and Andrews GREAT Grandmother.
This is Andrew with his Uncle Greg.  This was Greg's first visit with the babies and he thought they were adorable.
