Boppy Lounging

Andrew and Averie have discovered their boppy pillows.  If I can get the positioned just right, they will lay in them for a good while.  This morning they were enjoying their lounging time.  

Smiling Boy

Andrew woke up from his morning hap, then had his bottle.  After his bottle, he was in the best mood. He was sitting in his boppy just being cute.  They are both starting to smile a little.  Andrew was just a particularly happy boy this morning.  

Just Chillin Out

Averie was really upset after she took her bottle this afternoon.  I had her laying in her boppy on her back and that was not working.  Then I flipped her on her stomach and she loved it.  She laid there for almost 45 minutes.  She was just chillin out on her boppy looking cute.  At least I think she is cute!!

2 month check up

On Friday, July 25, 2008 Andrew and Averie went to the pediatrician for their 2 month check up.  Averie weighed 8lb's. 8 oz., and she was 20 inches long.  She gained 2lb's 9 oz. in one month.  Andrew weighed 8 lb's, 15 oz., and he was 211/4  inches long.  He gained 2lb's 10oz. in one month.  The doctor thought they looked great.  They also had to get 4 vaccinations.  That was not fun.  They really cried.  However, they have not run any fever and they act like they feel fine.  We will go back to the doctor in late September.  

Meet the Family

This weekend was very exciting for Andrew and Averie.  Their Aunt Chris and Uncle Gary came all the way from Philadelphia to meet them.  We went out to eat and they came to our house to visit and we were all very excited to see them.  Bruce and I are very grateful that they took the time to come all the way down to Tennessee to visit with Andrew and Averie.  

Kidz in the Hood

These are Andrew and Averie's velour hooded jumsuits that their friend Farah picked out for them.  Averie is sleeping and, as usual, Andrew is crying.  Aren't these little outfits cute!!!

Good Friends

My good fried Angelica McDuff came over to visit the other day with her three children, Abigale, Matthew, and Gabbie.  They had a good time visiting with the babies and Gabbie and I had a good time playing with the webcam. 

Plum Tuckered Out

Today has been a long day for us.  I made the very difficult decision to leave my job and stay home with Averie and Andrew.  I am so looking forward to hanging out with them, but I will miss the people that I work with.  They are wonderful.  Anyway, we rode over to the middle school for me to turn in my letter.  Andrew had had a particularly difficult day with his reflux and had been crying quite a bit.  When we arrived back at home, he cried the whole time I fed Averie.  When it was his turn to eat he ate all of his bottle and it knocked him out cold.  He fell sound asleep and slept for three hours.  I took these pictures after they both went down.  For as hard as the day was with Andrew, that sweet little face makes up for it all.  Don't you think?  My Averie is just too cute with her hand over her head.  I was telling mom that I think she gets that from me.  I have noticed that I sleep with at least one hand up.  Isn't that funny.  Well, what can I say, everyday is an adventure.  

Growing Up

Averie and Andrew took their first nap in the nursery today.  I thought they might have trouble going to sleep in there because it is kind of bright.  However, they fell right to sleep and are sleeping good.  They are really doing well.  

Clean Babies

These pictures were taken after Averie and Andrew had had their bottles and their bath.  They have on pajamas that say I love mom and I love dad.  Averie's are pink and Andrew's are navy blue.  I remember a couple of weeks ago these pajamas were too big.  They are not too big anymore.  In fact, they fit really good.  My sweet babies are growing everyday.  I am very glad that they are thriving and growing, but it is kind of sad to see my little ones getting bigger.  

Sweet Sleep

Andrew is our wild man. He has to be swaddled up tight in order to achieve really deep sleep.  I sat him up on the couch after he ate his bottle and he fell sound asleep.  Averie, on the other hand, does not like to be swaddled.  As you can see here, she is a free sleeper.  She always has her hands over her head.  This particular time she was stretched all the way out and sound asleep. I took this picture looking down at her, therefore, she was on her back on the pillow.   I just thought is was too cute and so I snapped the pic.  

Good Friends

Three of my very good friends from work came over to visit and meet Averie and Andrew. Ginger Smith, Suzanne Mortimer, and Linda Carter spent about two hours with us at our house today.  We had a great visit and it was very good to see them.  The main topic of discussion, believe is or not, was not the babies, but the fact that school starts in three weeks here in Chattanooga.  Can you believe that!!!!

Bouncing Good Time

Averie and Andrew enjoyed a few minutes in their bouncy seats today.  I just thought I would share.  

Doggie Love

Averie and Jazz took a nap on the bed together today. I just thought his picture was cute!! Averie seems to love napping with her poodle.  

Johnna came to hang out with us on the 4th of July.  She got some serious love from Averie and Andrew and we all enjoyed visiting with her.  

Averie and Andrew traveled with me to their Aunt Jill's house for the 4th of July.  This was their first our of town trip and I took them by myself, which was scary in and of itself.  However, they were troopers in the car and at my sister's house.  My parents were also there and we all enjoyed our visit.  The twins also got to meet their big cousin Jeremiah.  He was a really good cousin while we were there. He held and loved on the babies and he checked on them for me while they were sleeping.  

This picture was taken one afternoon when Bruce had just returned home from work.  The babies had been crying and I had just about had enough. Therefore, I decided that they needed a little daddy time.  They were all so cute together.

Finally 40 Weeks

Averie and Andrew have been home now for three weeks and are six weeks old.  They are finally full term babies, meaning they would have been 40 weeks gestation on the 28th of June.  The biggest issue we have now is feeding.  They both have a very immature sucking reflex.  I spent some time yesterday with the NICU Speech Pathologist and we got some helpful strategies that already seem to be working.  Andrew weighs about 6lb's and 5oz.  and Averie weighs 5lb's and 151/2 oz.  They get rice cereal in their bottles so they are both starting to fatten up.  I will continue to update as I have news.  Thanks for your continued prayers.
